You are invited to the Cherry Point Aquatic Reserve Action Training!

The Washington Environmental Council and RE Sources for Sustainable Communities are hosting an evening of learning for citizens interested in the Cherry Point Aquatic Reserve and how to ensure the protection of some of our most special places in Whatcom County. The Cherry Point Aquatic Reserve is located along the coastline in between the Lummi Nation Reservation and Birch Bay. This Reserve is home to a high diversity of marine and nearshore life, guarantees public access to the water, and needs your voice to protect it.

Register today.

Questions the training will answer:

  • What is an Aquatic Reserve?
  • What makes Cherry Point Aquatic Reserve worth protecting?
  • What regulatory decisions impact the Cherry Point Aquatic Reserve?
  • How can I engage in the public process around these regulations to protect the Cherry Point Aquatic Reserve?

Knowledge every participant will walk away with:

  • How to use your voice to stand up for your environment and protect Puget Sound.
  • An understanding of the suite of regulatory decisions and processes that impact Puget Sound.

The free training will be held on the evening of October 7th from 6:00pm until 8:30pm at the Bellingham Senior Center, 315 Halleck St, Bellingham, WA 98225. Light refreshments will be provided.
