PICKING UP LITTER ADOPT-A-ROAD
BBWARM partners with Whatcom County Health Department (WCHD) to facilitate the Adopt-a-Road program. This program supports groups and individuals to “adopt” a particular area, like a road or beach, to keep clean. You can also sign up for one-time group clean up events.
Supplies (garbage bags, grabbers, buckets, gloves, safety gear) and trash pick-up are provided as part of the program. For disposal of small amounts of litter, there is a trash can at the Chamber of Commerce. For larger amounts, you will need to schedule a pick-up with the program coordinator.
Ready to get started? Follow these simple steps to sign up:
Visit the WCHD Adopt-a-Road website to learn more about the program and read the information packet.
Sign the WCHD Adopt-a-Road liability form. The program coordinator will follow-up with you to provide more information once they receive your form.
Make sure you’re signed up for our monthly e-news to receive volunteer reminders! It’s important to report your hours after every cleanup, or at least monthly. Reporting hours enables the Whatcom County Health Department to acquire funding for the program.
