With improving water quality in Drayton Harbor, the western portion of the harbor will open to recreational shellfish harvesting for the first time in over 15 years!  The season is scheduled to open from April 1 to October 31, 2015.  Read the press release for more information on location, biotoxin status, and licensing requirements.  Click here for a map of open and closed beaches in Drayton Harbor.

Volunteers are needed to help count the number of shellfish harvesters during the harvest season.  Surveys will take place during designated low tides and will only take about 20 minutes to complete.  For more information read the flier and contact Austin Rose with the Whatcom County Marine Resources Committee at (360) 676-6876 x50259.
