The Birch Bay Watershed and Aquatic Resources Management (BBWARM) District Citizen Advisory Committee has two vacant positions for four-year terms starting in February 2016.  BBWARM is the stormwater management district for the Birch Bay watershed.  Advisory Committee members represent the local community and BBWARM rate payers’ interests in the stormwater program for Birch Bay.  Birch Bay residents interested in stormwater, water quality, and aquatic habitat in the Birch Bay watershed are encouraged to apply.

Applicants must be registered voters and either reside in the BBWARM District or be employed by a BBWARM rate payer.  Advisory committee member responsibilities include attending public meetings and providing recommendations on BBWARM project and program priorities to Whatcom County Public Works and the Flood Control Zone District Board of Supervisors.  The committee also meets as the Birch Bay Shellfish Protection District.  For more information, please call Ingrid Enschede, Program Specialist at Whatcom County Public Works, at (360) 778-6229.

Appointments to the BBWARM Advisory Committee are made by the Whatcom County Council acting as the Flood Control Zone District Board of Supervisors.  Application instructions and forms are available at https://wa-whatcomcounty.civicplus.com/210/Boards-Commissions or at the County Council office in the Whatcom County Courthouse, 311 Grand Avenue, Bellingham.  Applications are due January 5, this is a change from the January 18 deadline.
